Ramki, Contrary to what you have said, onion and garlic are not used by Hebbar Iyengars. There is no family I know that uses garlic. Onion is used sparsly to cater to children's taste. Please do not post comments that might lead people to think Hebbar Iyengars are wierd iyengars.
There is a typo error in Hebbar Iyengar Thali Poratchi Kootu . Add four pinches and not Add tour inches
